Phoenix Occupational Health is a family run business that provides all aspects of occupational health services to organisations and businesses across the UK.
Our services include Pre-Placement assessments management referrals, health surveillance, fitness for task medicals and biological monitoring, to help employees to stay healthy and in work.
We are very excited to be growing our business and we now need to add to our team. We are looking for an Occupational Health Technician to report to our Occupational Health Nurse Lead and support the team.
The successful candidate will:
Undertake health screening procedures including; general baseline measurements such as height, weight, blood pressure, vision screening, health surveillance such as audiometry, lung function, HAVS and skin assessments; drug and alcohol testing procedures and other tasks associated with the role
Ensure all medical information is accurately recorded in the occupational health records and passed to clinical staff for interpretation and further management of the employee
Ensure all equipment is serviceable, clean and fit for purpose. This can include ensuring that the equipment is regularly calibrated in line with the company asset management policy. This can also include the regular monitoring and recording of equipment performance indicators.
Work within set protocols ensuring that any queries outside the competencies of the role are directed to the appropriate clinical staff.
Undertake non-clinical tasks and additional tasks as requested and which are within the range of their trained competencies such as health promotion activities, First Aid training etc
Maintain a flexible approach to the role according to professional and service needs and work in accordance with policies and procedures
Work in a professional manner, respecting the confidentiality of the employees and our customers and their information at all times.
Treat all individuals with respect, dignity and privacy.
Be willing to travel for the role which can include overnight stays and some variability in shift patterns such as nights and late shifts to meet the needs of our customers.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, be organised in their approach to work and be a strong communicator. We are paperlight and experience of using office 365, computer based Audio and spirometry equipment will be essential. Due to the nature of our work we are looking for someone who is comfortable communicating in a variety of settings. We are a really busy team and we are looking to welcome someone to the team that has a can do attitude and will help us to keep growing.
This is a full time permanent opportunity and the salary for the position is in the range £26,450 - £30,000 dependent upon experience.
We are happy to offer training to the right individual
Candidates must have a full clean driving license and be able to drive the mobile screening unit as required
