Job Vacancy: Experienced Groundworker

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Groundworker to join our team. The role focuses heavily on drainage installation, slab preparation, and concrete finishing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering groundwork, with a particular emphasis on delivering high-quality finishes and ensuring site works are completed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install underground drainage systems, including laying pipes, connecting manholes, and ensuring correct falls and levels.
- Prepare sub-bases for concrete slabs, including excavation, compacting, and setting up formwork.
- Carry out concrete finishing tasks such as floating, trowelling, and power floating to achieve specified surface finishes.
- Read and work from site drawings, levels, and specifications to ensure works are carried out accurately.
- Operate small plant and machinery such as trench rollers, wacker plates, and concrete vibrators as required.
- Assist in setting out works and ensuring correct alignment and positioning of slabs and drainage runs.
- Ensure work areas are kept clean, safe, and organised, following health and safety standards at all times.
- Collaborate with site managers, engineers, and other trades to deliver projects on schedule.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Groundworker, particularly in drainage installation, slab preparation, and concrete finishing.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and levels.
- Competent in the use of hand tools and small plant.
- CSCS card required (CPCS/NPORS for machine tickets an advantage).
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices on construction sites.
- Good physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
- A valid UTR number for payment
- Must have your own tools.
