Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Carpenter/Joiner to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and joinery, with experience in various aspects of building and fabrication. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, including residential, commercial, and specialised construction tasks. Duties
- Fabricate, assemble, and install bespoke timber components for a variety of projects
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and join materials accurately
- Perform roofing tasks, including fitting trusses and roof coverings where required
- Carry out heavy lifting of materials safely to facilitate construction activities
- Assist with construction painting to prepare surfaces for finishing
- Conduct plumbing and masonry work as needed for integrated building projects
- Support electrical teams by providing carpentry-related assistance when necessary
- Read technical drawings and specifications to ensure precise execution of work
- Maintain a clean and organised worksite to promote safety and efficiency
Skills
- Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, carpentry, and joinery techniques
- Proficiency with hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and chiselling tools
- Competence in operating power tools including drills, sanders, and saws
- Knowledge of roofing installation processes and materials
- Ability to undertake heavy lifting safely and efficiently during construction tasks
- Experience with construction painting for finishing surfaces effectively
- Basic plumbing skills for minor installations or repairs within projects
- Familiarity with masonry work for structural or decorative purposes
- Electrical experience is advantageous for supporting integrated building systems
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and safety standards
