Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food, eager to learn, and committed to maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment. The role is for 45 hours per week over 5 days.
28 days holiday per year - Including bank holidays
Duties
- Assist with meal preparation and food assembly in accordance with menu specifications
- Support cooking activities under supervision, ensuring quality standards are met
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen equipment in line with food safety regulations
- Help with storing ingredients correctly and organising stock supplies
- Support the serving team during busy periods to ensure timely delivery of meals
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to uphold hygiene standards
- Assist with washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients as required
- Contribute to the overall organisation and cleanliness of the kitchen environment
Skills
- Previous experience in catering is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Good understanding of food preparation and safety procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Knowledge of basic culinary techniques and meal preparation processes is advantageous
- Flexibility to adapt to various tasks within the kitchen setting

Pay: £29,741.40 per year
