Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Part-time Dental Hygienist/Therapist to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality preventative and therapeutic dental care, supporting patient education, and assisting in maintaining optimal oral health including Implant maintenance. Starting salary is £34 depending on experience and hours to be arranged.
Duties
- Conduct thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing of patients' teeth
- Take and interpret dental radiographs using CAD and medical imaging technology
- Assist with diagnosis by providing detailed assessments of oral health status
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies
- Support the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort
- Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment plans accordingly
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and sterilisation procedures
- Keep the clinical environment organised, clean, and fully stocked with necessary supplies
- Stay informed about advances in dental technology and techniques, including anatomy knowledge relevant to dental therapy
Qualifications
- recognised qualification as a Dental Hygienist or Therapist from an accredited institution
- Valid registration with the appropriate dental regulatory body
- Experience using CAD systems for dental imaging is desirable
- Proficiency in medical imaging techniques relevant to dentistry
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, particularly oral and maxillofacial structures
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently within a team environment
