Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated and experienced Senior Assessors. The role encompasses conducting vocational assessments and oversee assessment operations within our training centre by providing high-quality assessment and support learners achieve outcomes their diploma timely.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Learner Assessment & Qualification Delivery
- Conduct assessments and reviews with carers, gathering information from multiple sources, including care homes and relevant agencies.
- Determine the most appropriate assessment method (face-to-face, telephone, online, or supported self-assessment).
- Analyse and evaluate needs, risks, outcomes, and eligibility, in accessing public funding.
- Identify specialist input required and make referrals as necessary.
- Plan and arrange review learners' portfolios and support assessment arrangements to ensure they meet quality standards, learning outcomes and assessment criteria.
- Accurately maintain records of assessments, reviews, and care plans, providing copies to individuals while ensuring data protection compliance.
- Deliver Health & Social Care qualifications, conducting assessments across relevant specialisms (from Level 2 Adult Health and Social Care certificate to Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Care managment ...)
- Ensure assessment instruments are valid, reliable, and aligned with national occupational standards.
- Conduct direct observations, professional discussions, and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessments.
- Provide constructive feedback to learners, supporting progression and achievement.
- Review and maintain learner portfolios, ensuring evidence meets qualification criteria.
- Adapt assessment approaches to meet individual learner needs, including online, remote, and face-to-face methods.
- Conduct initial assessments of learner skills, including English, maths, and digital literacy.
- Maintain accurate assessment records to meet internal and external audit requirements.
2. Safeguarding, Compliance & Professional Standards
- Apply organisational policies, procedures, and statutory guidance in all care management and assessment activities.
- Maintain awareness of safeguarding principles, alerting others to risks as appropriate.
- Ensure all assessment and care activities comply with awarding body standards, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance processes.
- Promote equality, diversity, inclusion, health and safety, and Prevent Duty principles.
3. Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
- Participate in team Standardisation meetings, professional discussions, and CPD activities to maintain and develop competence.
- Collaborate with colleagues to standardise assessment practices and improve outcomes and reflect on assessment methods and resources.
Key Competencies & Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Health & Social Care principles and statutory frameworks.
- Experience in conducting assessments, reviews and portfolio building.
- Understanding of vocational qualification assessment and standards.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and record-keeping skills.
Qualifications:
- Relevant Health & Social Care qualification (RQF/QCF/NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care - or above).
- Assessor qualification (e.g., A1, TAQA or D32/D33) or equivalent.
