We are seeking dedicated and resilient Pastoral and Behavioural Support Mentors in the West and North West London area to support students in managing their behaviour and engaging positively with their learning. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact on young people’s academic progress, wellbeing and personal development.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students who may present challenging behaviour, helping them build self-confidence, emotional regulation and positive relationships within the school environment.
This is a full-time, temp-to-perm position, ideal for someone who is seeking a stable, long-term role within a specialist education environment working with children with challenging behaviour.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural and emotional needs.
- Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
- Support students both in and out of the classroom to maximise engagement.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage positive choices.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress and behaviour.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
Previous experience working with children or young people (e.g., schools, youth work, care, coaching).
- Strong behaviour management skills and resilience.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive and positive attitude.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people.
Desirable:
- Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or youth work
