Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting with daily activities, ensuring residents' comfort and wellbeing, and supporting the delivery of personalised care plans. Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support individuals with mobility needs, including helping them move safely around their environment
- Follow and implement personalised care plans under supervision or guidance
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance residents' quality of life
- Assist with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in residents’ conditions
- Communicate effectively with team members, residents, and their families to ensure consistent care delivery
- Support daily activities such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and organising social activities where appropriate
Skills
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Strong organisational skills to follow care plans accurately and maintain detailed records
- Good IT skills for documentation and accessing relevant care systems
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment while also demonstrating independence when required
- Experience working in a care home or providing home care is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for those new to the sector
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support others’ wellbeing
