We are looking for an experienced Industrial Sewing Machinist / Heat Press Operator to join our production team on an initial 4-week fixed-term contract to support increased production.
For the right candidate, there is the opportunity for this role to become permanent, subject to performance and business requirements.
If you have excellent sewing skills but have never used a commercial heat press, don't worry—we'll provide full training.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on production role where you'll operate industrial sewing machines while also learning to apply transfers, badges and graphics to garments using professional heat press equipment.
Your duties will include:
- Operating industrial sewing machines to a high standard
- Sewing badges, labels and garment components
- Carrying out minor garment alterations where required
- Applying DTF transfers, vinyl graphics and badges using commercial heat presses (full training provided)
- Inspecting finished garments to ensure exceptional quality
- Preparing, folding and packing customer orders
- Working efficiently to meet production deadlines
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workspace

- Experience operating industrial sewing machines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to produce consistent, high-quality work
- Good manual dexterity
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team
Desirable - Not Essential
- Experience within clothing or textile manufacturing
- Garment alterations
- Heat press or garment decoration experience
- Embroidery or textile production
- Quality control experience
