Overview
We are seeking a skilled Front of House Assistant to join our team at a bustling farm shop and restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a passion for locally produced food, great coffee and providing exceptional customer service.
The ideal person will be able to work at least 3 days per week, to include one weekend day (shifts are usually between 8:00am and 6.00pm) plus holiday cover as/when required.
Front of House Assistant
This position requires a high degree of professionalism and integrity and requires the employee to uphold impeccable standards that we at Old Hall Farm have set and contribute to the smooth running of the Farm Shop and Restaurant.
As front of house you are expected to act as ambassadors of the business and ensure that you carry out your role always with the best interest for the business, our customers, and your colleagues.
As a representative you should be able to talk knowledgably about the company ethos, farming techniques and our produce.
You are required to always present yourself is a clean and tidy manner and conduct yourselves in a professional manner always.
All staff are expected to comply with the company policies and procedures as set out in the Staff Handbook, Health and Safety Guides and HACCP.
Primary Roles
First point of contact for a customer visiting the farm shop, welcoming them to the farm and ensuring that their visit and experience with us is positive and enjoyable.
Liaising with the butchery and kitchen re soon to be out of date stock items.
Liaise with processing unit regarding stock levels and produce required.
Politely, confidently, and accurately receive and book reservations and online order queries through all means of communication.
You are asked to take care and wash your own OHF navy logo apron and other OHF clothing as and when provided.
Oversee and collate orders generated for local delivery.
Carry out daily general housekeeping and completing the daily check sheets.
Monitoring the refrigeration equipment and recording daily temperatures.
Secondary Role
Assisting with the day to day running of the Old Hall Farm Restaurant, Processing Room and Butchery.
The management reserve the right to ask and instruct you assist and work on different areas of the business as and when required.
Experience
- Previous Front of House experience is desirable but not essential
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
- Knowledge of food safety practices
- Willingness to learn and help out in various tasks as needed
Rate of pay - variable depending on experience, aptitude and attitude
Immediate start available.
