Role Summary
We are seeking experienced Ophthalmology Registered Nurses to support Glaucoma Outpatient services during weekend clinics. The role involves delivering high‑quality clinical care to patients undergoing glaucoma monitoring, assessment, and treatment within a fast‑paced outpatient environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong ophthalmic experience, excellent patient‑facing skills, and the ability to work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of Glaucoma Outpatient Clinics on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Undertake ophthalmic clinical tasks including:
- Visual acuity testing
- Intraocular pressure (IOP) measurement (e.g., Goldmann, iCare, Tonopen)
- Visual field support and patient preparation
- OCT and diagnostic imaging assistance
- Administration of prescribed ophthalmic medications
- Work collaboratively with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and technicians to ensure smooth clinic flow.
- Provide patient education regarding glaucoma treatment plans and follow‑up care.
- Ensure accurate documentation of clinical findings and patient interactions.
- Maintain patient safety, infection control standards, and adherence to local and national clinical guidelines.
Essential Requirements
- Registered Nurse (NMC) with current licence to practise.
- Proven experience in ophthalmology, preferably within glaucoma services.
- Confident in performing key ophthalmic assessments and using relevant equipment.
- Strong communication and patient‑care skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied outpatient caseload.

Pay: £300.00 per day
