Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Nursery Bank Staff to support our childcare team on a flexible basis. The role involves assisting with the care and development of children within a nursery setting, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. This position offers valuable experience in early childhood education and management, ideal for individuals passionate about working with children and looking to develop their skills in childcare and leadership.
Responsibilities
- Support the daily routines of children, including play, learning activities, and meal times
- Assist with organising educational and recreational activities suitable for various age groups
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times
- Maintain a clean and organised nursery environment in accordance with health and safety standards
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to promote a positive atmosphere
- Support senior staff in managing behavioural issues and encouraging social development
- Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping and activity planning as required
- Be adaptable to cover shifts at short notice, including mornings, afternoons, or full days
Skills
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and child development
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and creativity
- Experience working in nurseries or similar environments is highly desirable
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for travel between nursery locations or community visits
- Ability to work flexibly across various shifts to meet the needs of the nursery team
