The Opportunity
Technical Demolition Services is seeking a skilled Plant Fitter to join our specialist team. This is a critical role focused on the maintenance and repair of our demolition excavators and a wide range of heavy plant and machinery.
Demolition environments are demanding, and we need a technician who takes pride in keep equipment running at peak performance under pressure. This role offers a mix of workshop-based and on-site field service work, providing variety and the opportunity to work on some of the most robust machinery in the industry.
The Role
- Specialist Diagnostics: Conduct complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostics on demolition-spec excavators and heavy plant.
- Field Service: Perform essential repairs and preventative maintenance on-site, away from base, ensuring minimal downtime for our operations.
- Safety & Quality: Ensure all repairs are completed to the highest standards, on time, and in strict accordance with site safety regulations.
Requirements
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: Demonstrable experience working successfully with heavy plant (specifically large excavators).
- Education: Relevant formal qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance).
- Licence: Full UK Driving Licence (essential for field service).
- Mindset: Excellent attention to detail and a total commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Person Profile:
- A self-starter capable of working independently on remote sites.
- A team player who can collaborate with site managers and operators.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional weekend work to meet project deadlines.
