Job Purpose
We are looking for somebody to plan, organise and deliver a varied, stimulating and person-centred activities programme for 23 residents, some living with and without dementia. The Activities Coordinator will promote wellbeing, independence and social inclusion while helping residents maintain meaningful hobbies and interests.
Key Responsibilities
- · Plan and deliver a weekly programme of group and one-to-one activities tailored to residents abilities, needs and preferences.
- · Organise themed days, celebrations and seasonal events.
- · Arrange and support external entertainers.
- · Plan and support residents on outings, this will be either one-to-one outings or group outings. Plan and arrange extra support from staff on group outings.
- · Get to know each resident’s life history, interests and abilities.
- · Create and distribute a monthly newsletter for residents and families. Include activity updates, photos (with consent), resident stories, upcoming events and staff news. Work with staff and families to gather content.
- · Maintain accurate activity records and attendance logs.
- · Work with managers to budget for activities.
Experience
- · Experience working with older people and/or people living with dementia.
- · Creative, enthusiastic and caring personality.
- · Basic IT skills (for newsletter creation, photos and records).
Working hours
10am-4pm
3/4 days per week - flexible on which days
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £13.60 per hour
