Company Overview
Welling is a wholesale supplier of timber and glass door hardware to the fitout & construction trade, committed to providing quality and compliant products. Our enthusiastic team strives to support builders and contractors with reliable service and expert knowledge, with a focus on our goal of 'Making Ironmongery Easy'.
Location: Bourton-on-the-Water, GL54 2HQ — this is an office-based role.
The Internal Sales Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Internal Sales professional to join our team, supporting a specific product and customer sector. You'll handle day-to-day quoting, order processing, and customer queries — freeing up our Technical Director to focus on technical specification, bespoke pricing, and higher-value customer relationships. Full product training is provided, so previous industry experience isn't essential, however you must be willing to learn as much as possible about the technical nature of the products, the industry, how the customers work, be able to network within the industry etc.
Quoting
- Produce quotes for standard/repeat products using agreed pricing frameworks, price lists, and order history
- Log and follow up outstanding quotes, chasing for decisions where appropriate (via CRM)
- Escalate non-standard, bespoke, or technically complex quote requests to the sector lead
Order Processing
- Process customer orders accurately onto the system, or pass secured orders to the Customer Service / Warehouse teams for fulfilment
- Track order status and proactively update customers on progress, delays, or stock issues
- Handle routine order amendments (quantities, delivery dates, etc.)
Customer Contact
- Act as first point of contact for existing customers within the sector on day-to-day queries (order status, pricing, availability)
- Build working knowledge of the core product range and key customers, so you can handle queries independently over time
- Identify and flag any technical, commercial, or relationship-sensitive matters that need escalation
Administration & Continuous Improvement (longer term)
- Learn as much as possible about the products, the technical nature of the different ranges and be able to advise customers more as you build technical expertise
- Maintain accurate customer and pricing records in Pipedrive
- Help build and refine a documented pricing/quoting framework, so more can be self-served
- Report on recurring query types, so common issues can be templated or automated
What We're Looking For
- Strong administrative/organisational skills, comfortable with high volume and detail
- Confident on the phone and in written customer communication via email
- No prior product experience required — full training provided
- A quick learner, happy to ask questions early rather than guess
- Prior experience in sales support, order processing, or customer service is a plus (B2B distribution/trade background helpful, not essential)

- Location: office-based at our Bourton-on-the-Water site (GL54 2HQ)
