Jered - Marine system Technology, a PAR Company, focuses on providing global naval marine customers with complex naval marine door systems, hatches and cutting-edge fire-resistant panel systems.
We are seeking a dedicated and quality-oriented Quality Inspecctor to join our dynamic team. The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that raw materials and products meet established quality standards and specifications before they are released for use or delivery. This role involves inspecting materials, components, and finished goods using visual checks, measuring tools, and testing equipment. The inspector documents findings, identifies defects, and works closely with production team to resolve quality issues and maintain compliance with regulatory, legislative, customer and company standards.
This position will primarily be at the workshop based in Winsford.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect all incoming materials to verify compliance with the company’s quality requirements.
- Ensure all products meet the company’s quality standards at every stage of production.
- Apply and monitor tolerances to confirm that product dimensions remain within acceptable limits.
- Document and report quality issues promptly via the non-conformance process.
- Inspect finished goods prior to delivery, completing the Pre-Delivery Verification form (PDV).
- Ensuring goods are accurately labelled, packaged, and prepared for dispatch.
- Where applicable, complete some basic correction of products that fail quality control inspections. Rectify products that do not pass quality control inspections to bring them up to standard.
- Assist in packaging products, ensuring correct quantities and methods are used.
- Adhere to company policies, workplace behaviour, and health and safety standards.
- Always use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly.
- Accurately complete all required documentation within designated timeframes.
- Communicate any quality control issues to the following shift or relevant staff.
- Undertake any other duties or tasks as reasonably required to support business operations and maintain high-quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Essential Requirement
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with quality control responsibilities.
- Experience of using standard inspection equipment i.e Verniers, Angle and Radius Gauges etc.
- Able to understand and interpret engineering drawings and other technical material.
- Basic understanding of sheet metal fabrication or equivalent manufacturing processes and techniques.
- Good understanding of Microsoft office packages and ability to use standard software applications.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail with the ability to complete tasks accurately and on time.
- Flexibility to work overtime as and when required.
- Full driving licence
Desirable
- Fitting and Press Brake skills/knowledge.
- Continuous improvement experience (5s, Kaizen, Visual Management etc.)
Working hours are Monday to Thursday 0730-1630 and Friday 0730-1330. There is also the option for a 9-day fortnight work pattern.
