We are looking to appoint a Senior Project Manager to join our Defence team, in Leeds supporting the delivery of major infrastructure and construction projects within a highly regulated and secure environment. This is an exciting opportunity to lead multidisciplinary teams, coordinate complex stakeholder groups and manage project delivery from inception through to completion, ensuring successful outcomes across programme, cost, quality and safety objectives.
This role requires highly trusted professionals who can operate with integrity, accountability and discretion within a secure environment.
Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
You'll be responsible for:
- Managing projects from inception through design, procurement, construction and handover.
- Managing multidisciplinary design teams, consultants, contractors and project stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Developing and maintaining project execution plans, delivery strategies and project programmes.
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
- Managing project risks, issues, opportunities and change control processes.
- Overseeing project budgets, financial performance and commercial management activities.
- Administering contracts and supporting effective commercial and contractual management across the project lifecycle.
- Managing project governance, reporting and stakeholder engagement activities.
Coordinating planning, procurement and delivery activities across multiple workstreams.
- Facilitating collaboration between clients, suppliers, consultants and delivery teams.
- Driving continuous improvement, innovation and best practice throughout project delivery.
- Ensuring all project documentation, approvals and handover requirements are completed in accordance with programme requirements.
You'll need to have:
- Proven experience delivering medium to large-scale construction, infrastructure, Defence or complex capital projects from inception through to completion.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams, with experience managing MEP-led design projects considered advantageous.
- Strong pre-construction and pre-contract delivery experience, including project development through to RIBA Stage 4.
- Contract administration experience and demonstrable commercial acumen, with experience working under NEC3 and/or NEC4 forms of contract highly desirable.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand, interpret and challenge complex project requirements, designs and delivery strategies.
- APM PMQ qualification and MAPM membership, supported by significant post-qualification experience, with Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) status considered advantageous.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate clients, consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
