Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play an important role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and organisation. Previous experience is helpful, but a positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn are key.
Duties
- Wash and clean crockery, cutlery, glassware, cooking utensils, pots, pans and kitchen equipment.
- Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen, preparation areas and back-of-house spaces.
- Remove waste and recycling regularly and dispose of it in accordance with company procedures
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries when required.
- Help maintain organised and tidy stock and storage areas.
- Support chefs and other kitchen team members with basic food preparation tasks when required.
- Ensure cleaning products and equipment are stored and used safely.
- Follow all food hygiene, health and safety and COSHH procedures.
- Report any damaged equipment, maintenance issues or potential hazards to management.
- Assist with opening, closing and deep-cleaning duties as required.
- Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen and hospitality team to support an efficient service.
Skills
- Previous experience in a kitchen, hospitality or cleaning environment is desirable but not essential.
- Good understanding of cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy and fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
- Ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Willingness to undertake a variety of cleaning and kitchen-support duties.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking approach to work.
- Good communication skills and willingness to follow instructions.
- Comfortable carrying out physically active duties, including standing for extended periods and moving kitchen equipment and supplies safely.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends and busy periods where required.

Pay: £10.00-£12.71 per hour
