Overview
We’re recruiting an Operational Development Engineer (Periodic Testing) to support the delivery of operational documentation and strategy for a Periodic Testing Programme on a major, highly regulated UK energy infrastructure project.
Working within a pre-operations environment, you’ll help shape the processes and instructions needed to deliver periodic testing in an operational station, including reviewing and analysing designer technical documentation (e.g., drawings, specifications, and test instructions) and collaborating with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct technical analysis of plant components and equipment.
- Review and analyse technical documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, and testing instructions.
- Support development of surveillance programme requirements for the operational station.
- Carry out scheduling activities for outputs of the periodic testing surveillance programme.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with technical and functional stakeholders across the wider organisation.
- Research and apply relevant operating experience from other industries to drive best practice and performance improvement.
- Contribute to the development of processes, procedures and operational instructions to enable safe, efficient delivery of periodic testing.
Requirements / Experience
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Experience producing and controlling technical/operational documentation.
- Exposure to mechanical, electrical and/or control & instrumentation (C&I) plant systems.
- Ability to develop and follow procedures, work plans and safe working practices.
- Experience working in a project environment.
- Experience engaging with a wide range of suppliers and customers (UK-based and international).
- Minimum HNC/HND in an engineering discipline.
Desirable
- Engineering degree.
- Experience gained in a highly regulated environment (nuclear experience is not essential; relevant experience from other industries will be considered).
