We're Greener Options, a family-run sustainable washroom and clinical waste company based in Hartlebury. We're growing, and we're looking for a reliable, friendly Service Driver to join the team.
We look after a real range of businesses across Worcestershire, Herefordshire, the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire and into Birmingham. That includes care homes and hospices, GP and dental surgeries, schools and nurseries, hotels, pubs and restaurants, offices and gyms. Different customers, different sites, no two days quite the same.
This is mostly a local role, so most days you'll be home in the evening. Now and then we take on a dedicated transport job that means the odd overnight, but that's the exception rather than the rule.
What you'll be doing
You'll drive one of our vans on a daily route, visiting customers across the region. The work is a mix of:
- Servicing washroom units (sanitary bins, air fresheners, soap and hygiene dispensers, that sort of thing)
- Collecting clinical and offensive waste, mainly from care homes, surgeries, schools and nurseries
- Delivering hygiene products and keeping everything logged on a handheld tablet as you go
- Being a friendly face for our customers, because to them, you are Greener Options
Being straight with you: the role involves handling clinical waste, plenty of lifting, bending and carrying, and the odd flight of stairs. It's physical and it isn't for the squeamish. If that's fine by you, read on.
The hours
Full time, 37.5 hours a week. Your exact start and finish times depend on the route you're covering and what our customers need that day, so a bit of give and take goes a long way. For most routes that means 5.30-8am starts, Monday to Friday.
We also have the option of working a weekend day to look after our hospitality customers, if that suits you better than a standard week. Happy to talk it through and find a pattern that works for both of us.

- An ADR licence is helpful but not essential. If you don't have one, we'll fund your training and get you qualified

- Sales commission if you help bring in new business
What we're looking for
- A full, clean UK driving licence (the odd point is fine, talk to us)
- A confident, careful driver who's happy at the wheel of a 3.5 tonne van these can be manual or automatic
- Comfortable with the physical side of the job, which involves regular lifting, carrying and stairs throughout the day. We're happy to talk through any reasonable adjustments that would help
- Digitally savvy and comfortable with technology. We run tablets and digital systems out on the road, so you'll need to be happy using an app to log your day
- Reliable, a good timekeeper, and happy to be flexible when a route needs it
- A warm, polite manner with customers
- If you've worked in care, in waste, or done multi-drop van driving, that's a real bonus. But it's not essential, we'll train the right person
