As a Line Chef you are at the forefront of our kitchen team, producing meals to a high standard and company specification. This is a fast-paced busy environment where our customers expect high quality and standards of food with good service times, even during busier periods.
You should ensure that you produce all meals to specification consistently; with all due diligence adhered to throughout. Contribute ideas to specials and events and ensure that all our kitchen team perform to a high standard. During quieter periods, you will be required to prepare in advance, be ahead of the game and ensure that the kitchen is well always stocked; speed of service whilst maintaining high standards and quality is vital.
The Breakfast Chef role is quite flexible in terms of working hours, you would be expected to start at 6am in the week and 7am at the weekends, with flexible finish times of either midday, 2pm, 3pm or even 5pm depending on the number of hours desired. You will be cooking and preparing breakfasts for both our hotel residents and walkins from the general public; you will also be expected to setup and prepare the kitchen for the days service ahead and carry out any other preparation tasks as required.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that dishes are prepared and cooked according to the specific site standards.
- Ensure that stock is ordered in line with company policy.
- Ensure that stock is rotated and controlled including food labelling within the specific section of the kitchen
- Ensure full understanding of the functional administration of the site.
- Maintain a detailed knowledge of the full menu and be able to explain dish descriptions.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements under the H&S act 1974 and Food Hygiene.
- Ensure all policies, procedures, standards and guidelines are carefully adhered to.
- Adhere to prescribed standards of personal hygiene and grooming
- Perform any other duties as required
- To ensure that all cleaning rotas are adhered to and carried out in a timely and effective manner.
- To ensure that all food hygiene due diligence paperwork is completed in a correct and timely manner.
- To build a good working relationship with the team and deliver training and support to team members as required.
- To communicate effectively with the kitchen team and all members of the management team.
