Eastchurch is a growing construction company delivering projects across our Construction, Fit Out and Facilities divisions. Due to continued growth, we’re looking for a Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team.
Working directly alongside our Commercial Director, this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a supportive, fast-paced environment, gaining exposure to a variety of projects and sectors.
The Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you’ll support the commercial management of projects from tender through to final account, helping to ensure they are delivered profitably and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with cost planning and budget management.
- Preparing subcontractor enquiries and analysing quotations.
- Procuring subcontractors and suppliers.
- Preparing subcontract orders and supporting documentation.
- Measuring works from drawings and site information.
- Assisting with valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
- Supporting the preparation and management of Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
- Monitoring project costs, variations and change management.
- Reviewing subcontractor applications and invoices.
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and project documentation.
- Liaising with project managers, site teams, clients and subcontractors.
- Attending project meetings and site visits where required.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is organised, motivated and eager to build a long-term career in quantity surveying.
Ideally you’ll have:
- A degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline (or be working towards one).
- Previous experience in a construction or commercial environment (placement or assistant role desirable).
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- A full UK driving licence (preferred).
