Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Edge Bander Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating edge banding machinery to apply decorative edging materials to various panels and substrates, ensuring high-quality finishes and efficient production flow. Your mechanical aptitude, precision, and safety awareness will contribute significantly to our manufacturing excellence. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate edge banding machines, ensuring proper calibration and alignment for optimal results
- Select and load appropriate edging materials based on project specifications
- Monitor machine operation throughout production runs, making adjustments as needed for quality control
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on machinery using hand tools and mechanical knowledge
- Handle materials safely within the warehouse environment, including loading, unloading, and organizing panels and supplies
- Inspect finished products for defects or inconsistencies, ensuring adherence to quality standards
- Maintain accurate documentation of production activities, machine settings, and quality checks
Experience
- Proven experience in fabrication or woodworking environments, specifically with edge banding or similar machinery
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in manufacturing equipment operation
- Knowledge of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks or similar tools for understanding design specifications
- Mechanical knowledge related to milling, welding, tooling, and materials handling processes
- Ability to use hand tools effectively for adjustments and minor repairs
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions accurately
- Warehouse experience including materials handling, assembly, and working with various materials and tools
