Job Description:
We are looking for outstanding behaviour Mentors, SEMH Teaching Assistants, and Learning Support Staff to support pupils across specialist schools and alternative provision settings in Nottingham and Derbyshire.
The Role:
These schools support pupils with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, trauma, and barriers to education. Denewood Academy and Westbury Academy are alternative provision settings focused on supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with behaviour, emotional regulation, classroom engagement, and relationship building while helping create a safe and structured learning environment.
This role would suit someone who:
- Has experience working with children or young people with behavioural or SEMH needs
- Comes from a youth work, support work, sports coaching, football coaching, care, or mentoring background
- Is confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and professional way
- Can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
- Is resilient, adaptable, and able to stay positive in a fast-paced environment
- Wants to make a genuine difference to young people who need additional support
- Enjoys working as part of a supportive and collaborative team
