Our immediate priority is recruiting someone to support an established double-handed Moving & Handling care package in Faversham.
If you can travel reliably to our Faversham client, you do not need to drive to apply.
Looking to increase your hours?
We also support three clients in Canterbury, all within walking distance of Canterbury railway stations, making additional hours easily accessible by train or public transport.
If you do drive, there are also opportunities to work across our wider service as additional hours become available.
Moving & Handling Experience Preferred
Applicants who already hold a valid Moving & Handling certificate will be given priority consideration, as they can begin supporting this established care package more quickly.
If you don’t currently hold the qualification, we still encourage you to apply, as accredited training may be available for the right candidate.
Your Contract
- 12 contracted hours per week
- 4 hours across 3 days
- Opportunities to increase your contracted hours as additional work becomes available
Your Shift Pattern
Week One (Every Other Week)
Friday Saturday Sunday
8:00 pm – 9:00 pm
- Fixed double-handed Moving & Handling call
- Based in Faversham
- Working alongside another experienced Care Assistant
This one-hour visit is the only fixed part of your shift.
The remaining 3 hours can be worked flexibly:
- Earlier during the day on Friday, Saturday or Sunday
- Across Monday, Wednesday or Friday within the availability below
Additional hours may also become available across these days.
Week Two
Your contracted hours (or additional hours) can be worked flexibly during the following availability:
Monday2:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Wednesday7:00 am – 7:30 pm
Friday2:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Your rota will be planned around your availability while maintaining continuity of care for our clients.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Community Care Assistant, you’ll provide high-quality, person-centred care that enables people to remain safe, independent and comfortable within their own homes.
Your duties may include:
- Personal care
- Moving and handling
- Medication support
- Meal preparation
- Companionship
- Mobility assistance
- Promoting independence
- Accurate digital care recording
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Aged 18 years or over
- Compassionate, caring and reliable
- Excellent communication skills
- A genuine passion for providing outstanding care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to travel reliably to assigned clients (by car, train, bus, walking or cycling)
Desirable
- Previous domiciliary care experience
- Valid Moving & Handling certificate
- Full UK driving licence
- Access to your own vehicle
