Overview
We are seeking a professional Breakdown Recovery Driver to join our team. This role involves providing prompt and reliable assistance to vehicles in distress, ensuring safety and efficiency on the road. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, mechanical knowledge, and excellent communication abilities to coordinate recovery operations effectively. Responsibilities
- Respond swiftly to breakdown calls and assess the situation on-site or en route.
- Safely operate flatbed lorries and other recovery vehicles to retrieve disabled vehicles.
- Securely load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment, ensuring damage-free transport.
- Communicate clearly with clients, dispatchers, and team members regarding recovery status and estimated times.
- Conduct basic mechanical inspections to identify potential issues or hazards during recovery.
- Maintain accurate records of recoveries performed, including vehicle details and location data.
- Ensure all recovery operations comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with warehouse duties as required, including vehicle storage and inventory management.
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role involving vehicle recovery or roadside assistance.
- Demonstrable knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safety standards within the UK.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to vehicle breakdowns and repairs is highly desirable.
- Prior experience operating flatbed lorries or similar recovery vehicles is preferred.
- Strong communication skills for liaising effectively with clients, team members, and emergency services
