About Us
We are Stoned Kids, an established dance costume company based in Portishead. We create unique, high-end, and edgy bespoke competition costumes for freestyle disco dance. Our environment is highly creative, fast-paced, and collaborative—we love experimenting with new designs, and we’re looking for a skilled talent to complement our team.

We are looking for a person with a positive, can-do attitude who likes a challenge, is able to prioritise tasks, and can meet deadlines. You should be a strong team player who communicates well and is keen to contribute to a smooth group workflow. We want someone happy to utilise and share their own experience while remaining eager to learn new skills and techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- High-Standard Alterations: Perform alterations quickly, efficiently, and to an exceptionally high standard.
- Precision & Speedy Fabric Cutting: Accurately and swiftly cut fabrics with precision, keeping in mind that another team member will be machining the final garments.
- Pattern Troubleshooting: Utilise a deep understanding of pattern making to review, adjust, and troubleshoot patterns as part of your fabric-cutting duties.
- Garment Assembly: Assist in producing bespoke dancewear from start to finish, as well as helping the team with general sewing tasks as needed.
- Team Collaboration: Maintain clean prep work and clear communication so workflow moves seamlessly to the machining team.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Deep Understanding of Pattern Making: Proven capability to interpret, troubleshoot, and adapt patterns on the fly.
- Mastery of Fabric Cutting & Sewing: High level of accuracy, speed, and attention to detail.
- Efficiency Under Pressure: Ability to work quickly without compromising on quality or finish.
- Fabric Knowledge: Experience with stretch fabrics, activewear, or dancewear is a major advantage.
- Time Management: Demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively and meet production deadlines.
Schedule & Hours
- Hours: 24 hours per week (3 days, specific days to be agreed during interview).
- Growth: Opportunity to transition to a Full-Time role based on team performance and business needs.
