Job Title: Early Years Practitioner / SENCo
Location: Willow Tree (Cherry Lane), Langley Green, Crawley, West Sussex, RH11 7NX.
About Us:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner and SENCo to join our fun and friendly team at Willow Tree! We are a well-established Pre-School, Forest School, and After-School Care provider. At Willow Tree, we follow a Forest School ethos, encouraging all children to respect the environment and one another.
Working Hours:
Our term-time provision operates during the following hours:
- Breakfast Club: 8:00 AM – 8:30 AM
- Pre-School: 8:45 AM – 2:45 PM
- After-School Club: 2:45 PM – 6.00 PM
Note: We also run Holiday Clubs during school breaks, offering optional overtime opportunities for staff.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within the Early Years sector and hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare. You must possess a strong understanding of child development, with proven experience in implementing child-led interests and supporting children with additional needs or from disadvantaged backgrounds.
This role also includes duties as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo). For this aspect of the role, you must:
- Have dedicated experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Understand how to effectively support children with underlying health conditions, complex behavioral needs, and educational support requirements.
- Be confident in creating, implementing, and monitoring individual support plans when required.

We are looking for someone reliable, punctual, energetic, and able to work well both as part of a team and using their own initiative. Excellent communication skills when working with children, parents, and external professionals are essential.
Role Details:
- Hours: Full-time, term-time only (5 days a week, 8:45 AM – 3:00 PM)
- Working Environment: As we adhere to a Forest School ethos, the successful applicant must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Schedule & Shift Details:
- Hours: 6-hour daily shifts (Monday to Friday) – We are happy to accommodate additional hours if desired, as we run an After-School Club every day.
- Breaks: 30-minute lunch break
- Schedule: Full-time, term-time only (No weekends)
Experience & Qualifications:
- Qualifications: Level 3 Childcare qualification (Required)
- Experience: Early Years / Childcare experience: 1 year (Preferred)
