We are looking for a reliable, practical and self-motivated Caretaker & Maintenance Operative to look after the general upkeep of our company sites and provide practical support across the business.
This is a varied, hands-on role and would suit someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in keeping things well maintained and tidy, and is happy to turn their hand to a wide range of practical jobs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- General maintenance and minor repairs across multiple sites
- Grass cutting and upkeep of outdoor areas
- Keeping company premises and external areas clean and presentable
- Managing waste, cardboard and recycling
- Driving company vans between sites
- Driving a large van and trailer to trade shows and events
- Loading, transporting and unloading trade-show equipment
- Assisting with trade-show setup and dismantling when required
- Moving equipment, furniture and other items between locations
- Looking after company tools, maintenance equipment, vans and trailers
- Identifying maintenance issues and arranging or reporting repairs
- General practical duties to support the day-to-day running of the business
About you:
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, trustworthy and able to work independently
- Practical and confident carrying out basic maintenance and DIY tasks
- Organised and able to manage tasks across multiple locations
- Comfortable with physical and outdoor work
- Confident driving larger vans
- Experienced and legally entitled to tow a trailer
- Flexible when required for trade shows, including occasional early starts, late finishes or overnight stays
- Professional and comfortable representing the company at external events
A full UK driving licence and the appropriate entitlement to drive and tow the vehicles required for the role are essential.
Previous experience in caretaking, facilities, property maintenance, grounds maintenance or a similar hands-on role would be an advantage.
