Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to animals while supporting our veterinary staff. This position requires a strong commitment to animal welfare and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As a Veterinary Nurse, you will be responsible for assisting in various clinical procedures, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring the comfort and safety of our patients.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Monitor anaesthesia and vital signs during surgical procedures.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is up-to-date.
- Provide nursing care to hospitalised animals, including feeding, grooming, and administering fluids.
- Educate pet owners on post-operative care and general animal health.
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the veterinary practice, including sterilisation of instruments and equipment.
- Assist with reception duties as needed, including scheduling appointments and answering client inquiries.
Requirements
- Qualified Veterinary Nurse with relevant certification or diploma.
- Experience in a veterinary practice is preferred but not essential; newly qualified nurses are welcome to apply.
- Proficiency in laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with clients and team members.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment.
