Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook grilled items according to specified recipes and standards
- Ensure all food is cooked safely, maintaining food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients and marinating meats or vegetables prior to grilling
- Maintain cleanliness of the grill station, including sanitising equipment and work surfaces regularly
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure optimal quality and presentation
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate meal preparation and service
- Follow all health and safety procedures to prevent accidents or contamination
- Assist with other kitchen duties as required, including meal preparation and serving when necessary
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Experience with meal preparation, especially grilling techniques, is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations, including working efficiently under pressure
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings or weekends if required
- Previous restaurant experience or culinary training is advantageous but not essential
