We are seeking an organised and motivated Administration Lead to support the day-to-day management of our administrative team and help ensure the smooth running of practice operations.
About the Role
The Administration Lead will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating a range of administrative functions, supporting team performance and ensuring that services are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
Working closely with the Operations Manager, Practice Manager and clinical teams, you will provide leadership and support to the administrative team while maintaining a hands-on approach to administrative duties when required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead, support and supervise the administrative team.
- Coordinate and monitor administrative workloads and priorities.
- Support staff development, training and induction.
- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings and annual appraisals.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding and probation reviews.
- Manage administrative rotas and ensure appropriate service cover.
- Oversee workflow management, patient registrations and medical records administration.
- Support delivery of QOF, Enhanced Services and patient recall programmes.
- Monitor quality and performance standards and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Act as a point of contact for administrative queries and external organisations where required.
- Support compliance with practice policies, information governance and confidentiality requirements.
- Provide hands-on administrative support during busy periods.
About You
Essential
- Previous experience in an administrative role.
- Experience supervising, supporting or leading a team.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism and excellent customer service.
Desirable
- Experience working in a GP practice, NHS or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of SystmOne, AccuRx, Anima or similar healthcare systems.
- Experience supporting staff training and development.
- Leadership or management qualification.
- Understanding of QOF and Enhanced Services.
