Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a flatbed lorry to deliver goods across various locations. Duties
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV lorry, primarily flatbed vehicles, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Load and secure goods onto the flatbed, ensuring safe transportation and delivery
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet deadlines and optimise fuel consumption
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any defects or issues promptly
- Assist with loading and unloading goods at various delivery points, adhering to health and safety standards
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays
- Adhere to all legal requirements regarding driving hours, tachograph regulations, and road safety
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar lorries
- Delivery driver experience preferred, with knowledge of route planning and time management skills
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations related to commercial driving and cargo securing
- Organised, reliable, and able to work independently under minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members
- Physically fit to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road
