Charity Shop Coordinator (Part-Time)
Hours: 16 hours per week (working pattern to be agreed).
Contract: Fixed-term contract for an initial period of three (3) months. The continuation of the role will be reviewed every three months and is subject to the availability of funding, the ongoing operational needs of Pilands Wood Community Centre and satisfactory performance.

Purpose of the Role
Pilands Wood Community Centre is seeking an enthusiastic, organised and customer-focused Charity Shop Coordinator to manage the day-to-day operation of the Community Charity Shop.
The Charity Shop Coordinator will maximise income for the charity by ensuring the shop is welcoming, well-presented and efficiently managed. The role includes overseeing stock, coordinating volunteers, delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a safe, clean and inviting retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage the day-to-day operation of the Charity Shop.
· Work 16 hours per week, ensuring the shop is adequately staffed and operates efficiently.
· Receive, sort, price and display donated goods to maximise sales and income.
· Ensure stock is attractively presented, regularly rotated and replenished.
· Monitor stock levels and arrange the safe storage or disposal of unsaleable items in line with charity procedures.
· Maximise income by pricing goods fairly while achieving the best possible value for the charity.
· Promote gift aid donations where appropriate and in accordance with charity procedures.
· Deliver excellent customer service, creating a welcoming environment for customers and donors.
· Support, supervise and encourage volunteers, ensuring they feel valued and well supported.
· Maintain accurate records of daily sales, donations and stock movement.
· Ensure cash handling procedures are followed accurately and securely.
· Maintain a clean, tidy and safe shop environment, complying with Health and Safety requirements.
· Promote the Charity Shop through social media, community events and local partnerships where appropriate.
· Report regularly to the Office Manager on shop performance, sales, donations, volunteer activity and opportunities for improvement.
· Work within agreed budgets and identify opportunities to increase income and reduce unnecessary expenditure.
Person SpecificationEssential
· Excellent organisational and customer service skills.
· Experience of retail, customer service or stock management.
· Ability to supervise and motivate volunteers.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills.
· Experience of cash handling and maintaining accurate records.
· Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and email.
· Ability to work independently and use initiative.
· Friendly, reliable and committed to supporting the local community.
Desirable
· Experience of working in a charity shop or voluntary sector.
· Experience of visual merchandising and retail displays.
· Knowledge of Gift Aid procedures.
· Experience of social media promotion.
· Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (if required).

· Act as a positive ambassador for Pilands Wood Community Centre and promote its charitable aims.
· Foster an inclusive, welcoming and respectful environment for customers, donors and volunteers.
· Maintain confidentiality and comply with GDPR requirements.
· Follow all Charity policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equality and Diversity.
· Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role as requested by the Office Manager.
