About the Role:
As a Technical Trainer, you will play a key role in developing and delivering high-quality training programs for MSI-designed Weapon Systems and associated products. You will work closely with internal teams and customers to ensure personnel are fully equipped with the technical knowledge and practical skills required for installation, operation, and maintenance of our systems. This role involves both classroom-based and hands-on training, delivered at MSI facilities and customer sites in the UK and overseas.
- Designing, developing, and delivering technical training courses for Gunnery Systems, Submarine Navigation Plotting Tables, and other MSI products.
- Acting as Aftermarket services SME for all technical support queries.
- Preparing comprehensive training materials, manuals, and presentations.
- Conducting practical demonstrations and assessments to ensure competence.
- Collaborating with Project Managers and Customer Support Manager to align training with project requirements.
- Producing accurate and timely training reports and feedback documentation.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards during all training activities.
- Supporting knowledge transfer within the organization by mentoring new trainers and sharing best practices.
- Assisting in evaluating technical performance of trainees and providing feedback to management.
- Contributing to continuous improvement of training programs based on customer and internal feedback.
- Undertake any such tasks or duties as deemed necessary by MSI-DSL.
About the Person:
Essential
Qualifications/ education requirements
- Deg/HND/HNC/ONC Electronic Engineering
Technical skills and experience
- Proven and demonstrable field service experience.
- Technical knowledge of diagnosing and repairing, digital, electronic, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment.
- Able to read complex wiring diagrams and devise workable fault diagnosis instructions
- High level of computer literacy to include Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

- A positive ‘can do’ approach with an ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers in possible extreme environmental conditions, in the UK and abroad.
- Resourceful, with the ability to work independently and be lead engineer of the team
- Flexible and can adapt quickly to changing schedules
Other
- Reside within a daily commutable distance of Norwich (NR7)
- Full Driving Licence to drive in the UK and abroad
- UK Valid passport with no travel restrictions
Desirable
- Qualifications in Weapons inspection, repair and servicing.
- Experience of compiling and delivering Training courses
- Previous customer facing Service Engineer role
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Work inclusively in a small close-knit team, parting knowledge and sharing information is critical to the success of a first-time diagnosis of customer equipment failures.
