The Lower Thames Crossing (LTC) is one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects. LTC is a new road that will connect Kent and Essex through a tunnel beneath the River Thames and will be the greenest road ever built in the UK - creating six times more green space than road. The reliable new route will almost double road capacity over the river east of London to reduce congestion and give millions of people more choice on where they live, work and spend their valuable time. We are currently looking for a Head of Logistics who will be accountable for the safe, secure and efficient delivery of all logistics operations across the Kent Roads main works contract.
As the Head of Logistics, you will:
- The Head of Logistics will lead all logistics planning and operations, including fleet management, traffic management and site coordination.
- The Head of Logistics & Security will manage the Construction Logistics & physical security Operational Teams over the main works delivery.
- Leads the implementation and integration of a robust digital Vehicle Management System (VMS) and site-wide access control solution ensuring alignment between logistics and security functions.
- The role carries overall accountability for risk management and assurance across the logistics function, ensuring that robust systems, controls and governance are in place.
We are looking for:
- Professional Accreditation in Logistics such as Construction Logistics Practitioner or other relevant certifications, demonstrating a strong foundation in the field.
- Deep experience with access control systems and vehicle management systems (VMS), with a track record of successfully implementing, integrating, and managing these systems across large project sites.
- Demonstrated leadership in logistics, with solid line management experience, ensuring teams are effective, cohesive, and aligned with project goals.
- Active membership of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), reflecting your commitment to professional development and industry standards.
- Extensive logistics management experience in large, complex, and fast-paced construction projects, ensuring that logistics functions contribute to operational efficiency, cost control, and risk management.
