Job Overview
We are recruiting for a Senior Healthcare Assistant to join a residential care home in Stourbridge, DY8.
This is a full-time day-shift role, with 36 to 48 hours per week available.
The home supports 22 service users and is looking for a caring, reliable and motivated candidate who can support residents while also stepping into senior care responsibilities.
This role would suit either an existing Senior Healthcare Assistant or an experienced Care Assistant who is ready to progress into a senior position. Proper training and support will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Support residents with personal care, dignity and daily routines
- Assist with washing, dressing, mobility, meals and hydration
- Monitor residents’ wellbeing and report any concerns
- Support care planning, records and handovers
- Help maintain a safe, clean and respectful care environment
- Support and guide care staff where required
- Work closely with the management team and colleagues
- Follow safeguarding, infection control and health and safety procedures
- Promote independence, dignity and person-centred care
Requirements
- Previous care experience is required
- NVQ Level 1 or 2 in Health and Social Care
- Caring, patient and professional approach
- Good communication skills
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable working in a residential care home setting
- Willingness to learn and take on senior responsibilities
- Able to work full-time day shifts
