Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and versatile HGV driver/scaffolder to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy goods vehicles, primarily flatbed trucks, to transport scaffolding materials and equipment to various sites. You will also assist with the assembly, disassembly, and installation of scaffolding structures, ensuring all safety standards are met. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine skilled driving with hands-on scaffolding work, contributing to construction projects and site developments. Responsibilities
- Safely operate flatbed HGV trucks for the transportation of scaffolding materials and equipment across multiple locations
- Load and secure scaffolding components onto the vehicle using appropriate lifting and securing techniques
- Assist with the assembly, disassembly, and installation of scaffolding structures at various job sites
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with legal regulations
- Follow all health and safety protocols during driving, loading, unloading, and scaffolding activities
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle records, and site documentation for accountability
- Collaborate with site teams to coordinate delivery schedules and ensure timely arrival of materials
Requirements
- Valid HGV driving license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed trucks or similar vehicles
- Prior delivery driver experience preferred, demonstrating punctuality and reliability
- Knowledge of safe loading/unloading practices for heavy or fragile materials such as scaffolding components
- Ability to assist with scaffolding tasks including lifting, securing, and basic assembly work
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to driving and construction site activities
- Physical fitness to handle manual tasks associated with scaffolding work and vehicle operation
