Role Summary
The Senior Delegated Authority Account Manager is responsible for the end-to-end oversight of a portfolio of delegated authority contracts, acting as the key link between Producing Brokers, clients, underwriters and the Technical Operations teams.You’ll be the connective tissue of DRS, owning day‑to‑day broking and technical queries, keeping documentation watertight, and turning complex data into clear, confident decisions. As the link between commercial and technical teams, you’ll coordinate the full rhythm of delegated authority operations: monthly ‘state of play’ checks, bordereaux review, performance and aggregate reporting, and client outreach. Role Accountabilities
- Support Producing Brokers on complex broking matters, including renewal strategy, capacity discussions, pricing dynamics and syndicate relationship management.
- Participate in (and sometimes lead) client and underwriter meetings, representing the delegated authority function with authority and credibility.
- Lead the renewal process for delegated authority contracts within the portfolio, including early-stage planning, stakeholder coordination and delivery.
- Drive strategic renewal improvements such as coverage refinement, data enhancement, pricing quality, bordereaux accuracy and capacity retention.
- Serve as the second line of defence and the senior liaison between Producing Brokers and the Technical Operations.
- Ensure all delegated authority activities meet Lloyd’s, regulatory and internal governance standards.
- Own the resolution of complex exceptions, referrals and special acceptances
- Conduct monthly or quarterly portfolio performance reviews with brokers, underwriters and clients to highlight trends, risks, and improvement actions.
- Act as a senior point of contact for client and Coverholder issues, ensuring timely, high-quality resolution of operational and technical matters.
- Support the Producing Broker in building and maintaining strong relationships with Coverholders, TPAs and carriers.
- Support new business opportunities by providing delegated authority expertise.
Skills and Abilities
- Deep understanding of Lloyd’s and company market delegated authority frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of binder construction.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to support brokers on placement structure, renewal strategy, pricing considerations and capacity management.
- Skilled in navigating underwriter discussions and client interactions with confidence, authority and technical credibility.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with brokers, underwriters, Coverholders, TPAs and internal stakeholders.
- Confident communicator, able to present technical information in a clear, structured, and commercially relevant way.
- Comfortable acting as the senior escalation point for complex referrals, exceptions and performance issues.
- Competent in reviewing and interpreting bordereaux, performance MI, loss runs, aggregate reports and underwriting KPIs.
- Ability to challenge data quality, validate information and collaborate with technical teams to improve accuracy.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple binders, deadlines and priorities under pressure.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability, ensures tasks reach completion and issues are followed through to resolution.
