Job Description
The Housing Management Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for the Housing Element, ensuring all visitors and callers receive a professional and courteous welcome. In this critical role, you will greet and sign in customers, direct them to the appropriate personnel, and provide vital counseling and information to military members, their families, and eligible civilians to help them secure suitable housing. Your support will span all key areas of the housing office, including Assistance, Referral, Facilities, and Dormitory management.
Additionally, you will act as the subject matter expert for all mandated administrative support functions within the office. This includes maintaining and updating the housing database with high accuracy, as well as performing a variety of essential clerical and administrative tasks to ensure daily operations run smoothly. Qualifications and/or Key skills
One years specialized experience demonstrating the key skills listed;
· Interpersonal skills and the ability to productively work with customers and coworkers who may be uncooperative, irate, or confused.
· Skill and understanding the intricacies of Air Force correspondence; able to communicate effectively, tactfully, and courteously; and able to plan, organize, and meet deadlines.
· Knowledge of and experience using various office automation software programs, tools and techniques to support office operations.
· Skill in basic computer data entry, retrieval, and storage of information to input into an automated system. A qualified typist is not required.
· Familiarity with housing management regulations, policies, and directives to advise applicants with forms and procedures

· You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations. This position may also be coded as mission essential.
· You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft, and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training.
· You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period.
· Start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with organization’s flexible working policies. Overtime may be required and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent.
· You must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
