About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Child Therapist to support the development and delivery of a therapeutic model within our home. This is a unique opportunity to shape practice from the ground up and play a key role in embedding a consistent, relationship-based approach across the team.
We are open to a range of therapeutic backgrounds, including (but not limited to):
- Play Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Art or Creative Therapy
- Counselling / Psychotherapy
- Clinical or Child Psychology
The role can be flexible depending on availability and may include direct work with children, staff consultation, and contributing to care planning.
The Children We Support
We will be supporting children and young people who may have experienced:
- Trauma and adverse childhood experiences
- Attachment difficulties
- Emotional and behavioural challenges
- Placement instability
A strong understanding of trauma-informed and attachment-based practice is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic support to children and young people (where appropriate)
- Offer consultation and guidance to the staff team
- Support the development of therapeutic care plans
- Contribute to creating a consistent, trauma-informed environment
- Work collaboratively with external professionals and multi-agency teams
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a recognised therapeutic qualification
- Has experience working with children and young people
- Has a strong understanding of trauma, attachment, and therapeutic parenting approaches
- Is passionate about making a meaningful difference in young people’s lives
- Is able to work collaboratively within a residential care setting
