On behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs we are looking for a Project Controller for a 12 month contract based in Derby.
Job description - the role
- Support Global Rig Facilities by providing an integrated, long-term view of testing demand and execution across multiple sites and sectors.
- Develop and maintain master schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring testing requirements are aligned with facility capability, capacity and resource availability.
- Drive effective planning, risk mitigation and stakeholder engagement to optimise rig utilisation and support future revenue opportunities.
- Create and maintain integrated master plans in Primavera P6, combining multiple project schedules into a single global testing plan.
- Coordinate with teams across the UK and internationally to assess resource requirements and delivery feasibility.
- Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, resource clashes, risks and operational constraints.
- Apply project management and project controls principles to support planning, execution and reporting activities.
- Analyse data and performance metrics to improve planning accuracy and facility utilisation.
- Present project status, plans, risks and recommendations to senior stakeholders, including Director-level audiences.
- Contribute to opportunities for increased facility utilisation and external revenue generation.
- Proven experience in Project Controls, Planning & Control, or Project Planning within an engineering, aerospace, defence or complex manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6, including developing and integrating multiple project schedules.
- Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships and influencing senior stakeholders up to Director level.
- Demonstrable expertise in resource planning, scheduling and risk management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and support decision-making.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Understanding of project management principles and governance.
- Knowledge of finance processes, including cost and recovery concepts, would be advantageous.
- Aerospace, defence or highly regulated industry experience would be beneficial.
