We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly organised Lead Receptionist to join our busy and welcoming dental practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with outstanding customer service skills and ideally previous dental reception experience who is ready to take the next step in their career. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in creating an exceptional patient experience while leading our reception team and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the front desk.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and support the reception team, promoting a positive and professional working environment.
- Provide a warm, friendly and professional welcome to every patient.
- Manage appointments efficiently and optimise the practice diary.
- Handle patient enquiries by telephone, email and in person.
- Process payments and maintain accurate patient records.
- Assist with both NHS and private patient administration.
- Work closely with dentists, dental nurses and the Practice Manager to ensure excellent patient care.
- Help maintain efficient reception systems and consistently high customer service standards.
- Support the training and development of new reception team members where required.
- Identify opportunities to improve reception processes and contribute to the continued growth and success of the practice.
Person Specification
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience working in a dental practice (preferred).
- Experience supervising or leading a team.
- Excellent customer service, administration and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with patients and colleagues.
- Good general IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and other software packages.
- Experience using dental/ medical patient management software (preferred), although full training will be provided for the right candidate.
- A positive, friendly and professional attitude.
- The ability to remain calm, organised and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
- A genuine passion for delivering exceptional patient care.
- A proactive approach with the confidence to use your initiative and support others.
- A willingness to learn, embrace new challenges and continuously develop professionally.
- The ambition to grow within the practice and a genuine desire to progress into more senior leadership or management roles as opportunities arise.
