Job Role
The Experienced Flexographic Printer will safely operate flexographic printing equipment, producing high-quality products in line with customer requirements, company quality standards and production schedules. The role is responsible for print setup, operation, quality control, fault identification, routine maintenance and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the Production Department.
The role requires a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual with experience of flexographic printing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Press Operation & Production
- Set up and operate flexographic printing presses and associated finishing equipment.
- Follow manufacturing instructions and work orders generated through NetSuite.
- Select and prepare appropriate materials, inks, print plates and rotary cutters required for each production run.
- Complete machine setup efficiently to achieve agreed production targets.
- Produce work to the required quality standards while minimising waste.
- Operate fan folders, sheeter stackers and other print equipment as required.
- Meet production targets while minimising waste and downtime in line with company sustainability targets and controls
Quality Control
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Carry out quality checks at the start, during and at the end of production runs.
- Ensure all products meet customer specifications and internal quality requirements.
- Identify defects, investigate causes and take corrective action where possible.
- Complete required quality control documentation and sign-off procedures.
- Escalate recurring quality concerns to Team Leaders or Supervisors.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Conduct routine machine cleaning and housekeeping activities.
- Carry out basic preventative maintenance tasks as instructed.
- Report machine issues, faults or breakdowns promptly.
- Support maintenance activities where required to minimise downtime.
- Ensure equipment is operated safely and responsibly at all times.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Comply with all Health & Safety and SSOW policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organised working environment.
- Wear required PPE and follow safe systems of work.
- Support company compliance with quality and information security standards.
- Report hazards, accidents and near misses immediately.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
- Proven experience operating flexographic printing presses, with preference for Focus 250, 5 Colour, Focus 6 Colour Proflex with fanfold, Focus 6 colour with Ashe Inline Turret, Ashe 520
- Strong understanding of flexographic print processes and materials.
- Ability to set up jobs independently and troubleshoot print issues.
- Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality standards.
- Mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.
- Strong numeracy and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Hours are 07:15-16:30 Monday – Thursday 07:15-13:30 Friday.

Pay: From £34,000.00 per year
