Maritime Service Engineer – Harbour Mobile Cranes
Location: Stirling
Salary: £45,000 – £75,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday (40hrs)
Overtime: 1.5x first 4 hours then 2x
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maritime Service Engineer to join a specialist Maritime Crane team in Dundee.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining, servicing and repairing harbour mobile cranes and associated equipment, ensuring high standards of workmanship, customer satisfaction and efficient completion of all service work.
Your Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, inspections, maintenance and repairs of machinery and equipment at customer premises and on site.
- Develop specialist knowledge of harbour mobile cranes while gaining familiarity with other equipment and product types.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults and take appropriate corrective action.
- Complete all service documentation accurately and within required timescales.
- Ensure service manuals and technical records are correctly maintained and kept up to date.
- Carry out all work in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, technical specifications and safety requirements.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with customers.
- Work closely with customers to understand their requirements and provide a flexible, solutions-focused service.
- Ensure warranty and returned parts are correctly cleaned, packed, labelled and returned within required timescales.
- Support colleagues with administration, paperwork and other duties as required.
- Maintain a high standard of customer service and professionalism at all times.
Maritime Service Engineer About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience working as a Service Engineer, Field Service Engineer or similar engineering position.
- Experience working with heavy plant, cranes, lifting equipment or similar industrial machinery.
- A recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Strong mechanical, electrical and/or hydraulic fault-finding skills.
- Good understanding of engineering maintenance and repair procedures.
- GCSEs grade A–C or 9–4, or equivalent, in Maths and English.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
- A professional and flexible approach to working at customer sites.
Salary & Overtime
- £45,000 – £75,000 basic salary, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Overtime paid at 1.5x for the first 4 hours.
- Double time thereafter.
