We are looking for an enthusiastic, confident and adaptable Medical Receptionist/Administrator to join our busy and skilled reception and administration team, working across two local surgery locations.
The successful applicant will provide a wide range of medical reception and clerical support to our clinicians, patients and management team.
Working hours: Full-time, within our core hours of 8:00am–1:00pm and 2:00pm–6:30pm, including flexibility to work across both surgery locations as required.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties, including:
- Providing continuous GP administrative and reception support
- Acting as the first point of contact for patients, both in person and by telephone
- Handling a busy telephone system and dealing with patient enquiries professionally
- Care navigation and directing patients to the most appropriate service
- Making and managing patient appointments
- Supporting prescription-related administrative duties
- Processing and maintaining accurate patient information and records
- Providing administrative support to clinicians and the management team
- Liaising with patients, healthcare professionals and other organisations as required
- Undertaking general clerical and administrative duties

Previous experience within GP surgery, primary care, NHS reception or healthcare administration would be desirable but is not essential.
Full training will be provided to the successful applicant.
