We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our experienced and supportive Catering department - could it be you? This role is for 22.5 hours per week, working 3 out of 7 days, with shifts from 7.30am until 3.30pm.
This role matters: Food plays an important part in the care and comfort of patients, families, our valued Courtyard Café customers and the wider Hospice team. As part of our experienced and supportive Catering team, you will help prepare and serve high-quality food that contributes to the experience and wellbeing of everyone who receives care, visits or dines at the Hospice.
St John’s Hospice has a 5-star Food Hygiene rating and boasts a large, modern kitchen environment. You will play a key part in helping us maintain these standards by working safely, following cleaning schedules and supporting a “clean as you go” culture.
We are looking for someone with experience of working in a busy kitchen environment, ideally with commercial food preparation experience and a current Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate. You will be comfortable working as part of a team, using kitchen equipment and helping to prepare food with care and attention.
The Hospice also offers a range of staff benefits, including 7 weeks’ annual leave per year, free on-site parking and an 8% employer-funded pension scheme.
If you are ready to use your catering skills in a role where food, care and kindness all matter, we would love to hear from you.
Informal enquiries are welcome, please contact Dawn Pearson, Head Chef on 01524 382538, or please email [email protected]. Or why not pop into our Courtyard Cafe to see what you could be a part of.
