This is an exceptional opportunity to lead one of the most significant transformation programmes in the history of Bromley Healthcare. We are seeking an experienced and inspirational EPR Programme Director to lead the implementation of our new Epic Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system as we transition from EMIS to the shared Apollo Epic platform used across our South East London partners.
Reporting to the Director of Transformation, you will provide strategic leadership for a complex, organisation-wide programme that will fundamentally transform the way care is delivered, recorded and coordinated across community health services. This is more than a technology implementation; it is a major service transformation programme that will improve patient care, staff experience, productivity, quality, safety and organisational performance.
We are looking for a credible and experienced programme leader who has successfully delivered large-scale Epic implementations and can bring the vision, energy and expertise required to guide Bromley Healthcare through this exciting period of change. Experience of implementing Epic within a community healthcare provider is highly desirable
The role will provide strategic leadership for a major organisation-wide transformation programme, overseeing the redesign of clinical, operational and administrative processes to maximise the benefits of digital technology and improve patient care, quality, productivity and staff experience.
The post holder will lead a multidisciplinary programme team and work closely with Executive Directors, clinical and operational leaders, system partners and suppliers to deliver successful deployment and adoption of Epic across the organisation. Key responsibilities include programme leadership, governance, financial management, risk and issue management, stakeholder engagement, organisational readiness, benefits realisation and post-implementation optimisation.
The successful candidate will have significant experience leading large-scale digital transformation programmes within healthcare, including a senior leadership role in the implementation of Epic EPR. Experience within a community healthcare setting is highly desirable. They will demonstrate strong programme management, change leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at Executive and Board level and lead complex organisational change across multiple services and professional groups.

Main Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Transformation
Provide strategic leadership and overall accountability for Bromley Healthcare's Epic EPR Programme and associated transformation activities.
Lead the development and delivery of the organisation's Epic-enabled transformation strategy, aligning digital transformation with corporate objectives and future models of care.
Act as the senior organisational lead and subject matter expert for EPR-enabled transformation, advising Executive Directors, Board Committees and senior clinical leaders.
Drive organisation-wide service redesign to maximise the benefits of digital investment and improve patient outcomes and operational effectiveness.
Programme Leadership and Delivery
Hold overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the EPR Programme, ensuring achievement of agreed milestones, benefits, timescales and budgets.
Lead multiple complex workstreams, ensuring effective coordination of resources, risks, dependencies and programme priorities.
Establish robust programme management approaches, assurance arrangements and delivery frameworks to support successful implementation.
Lead programme mobilisation, deployment and organisational readiness activities across all phases of delivery.
Governance, Risk and Assurance
Establish and maintain comprehensive programme governance arrangements and reporting structures.
Ensure effective management of programme risks, issues, dependencies and escalation processes.
Provide regular assurance and progress reporting to Boards, Executive Committees and Programme Boards.
Ensure compliance with NHS standards, organisational governance requirements and relevant regulatory frameworks.
Clinical, Operational and Stakeholder Engagement
Build strong relationships with clinical, operational and corporate leaders to promote ownership and successful adoption of Epic.
Lead engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including system partners, suppliers and regional digital networks.
Facilitate decision-making across complex stakeholder groups and resolve competing priorities where required.
Represent Bromley Healthcare in regional and national forums relating to digital transformation and EPR deployment.
Change Management and Organisational Readiness
Lead organisation-wide change management and communications programmes to support successful implementation.
Ensure services are prepared for deployment through readiness assessments, training and adoption activities.
Support staff and leaders to embrace new ways of working and maximise use of the Epic platform.
Lead post go-live stabilisation, optimisation and continuous improvement activities.
Benefits Realisation and Performance Improvement
Develop and oversee the EPR benefits realisation framework, ensuring delivery of measurable clinical, operational and financial benefits.
Monitor programme outcomes and ensure improvements are embedded within business-as-usual operations.
Provide strategic assurance regarding return on investment and achievement of programme objectives.
Financial and Resource Management
Manage the programme budget and ensure effective stewardship of capital and revenue resources.
Oversee financial planning, forecasting and performance monitoring throughout the programme lifecycle.
Ensure robust financial governance and compliance with procurement and organisational requirements.
Leadership and Team Management
Lead, develop and inspire multidisciplinary programme, transformation and change teams.
Provide direct management of senior programme resources and matrix leadership across clinical, operational and corporate teams.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation and continuous improvement.
Build organisational capability in digital transformation, programme management and change leadership.
Information Governance and Clinical Safety
Ensure compliance with Information Governance, Data Protection, Clinical Safety and NHS Digital standards.
Provide leadership for clinical safety assurance and risk management throughout implementation and deployment.
Ensure appropriate governance arrangements are in place to support secure and effective use of the Epic system.
Ideal candidate profile
We are seeking an inspiring and credible senior leader with substantial experience of leading large-scale Epic EPR implementations, preferably within a community healthcare setting. The successful candidate will bring strong programme leadership, exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, extensive experience of delivering organisational transformation, and the ability to influence at Board, Executive and system-partner level. They will be passionate about using digital innovation to improve patient care and have the resilience and expertise to lead a complex, high-profile programme through to successful delivery.
