Job Summary MUST HAVE RELEVANT CHILDCARE QUALIFICATION ( Level 3 or above)
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated experienced Early Years Deputy Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the leadership team in providing high quality learning and care for all children and staff while fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This position requires a strong commitment to early childhood education and the ability to engage with children and staff effectively. To manage the setting in the absence of the manager ensuring high quality care and learning is provided at all times and staff are supported in their roles in the setting must have knowledge and experience in a management role within an early years setting.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning through play While supporting staff also.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all children. —Lead the setting in the absence of the manager ensuring ofsted standards are met at all times.
- Observe and assess children's development and progress, maintaining accurate records While supporting staff to do so.
- Communicate effectively with staff, parents and caregivers regarding children's progress policy and procedures and any concerns Parents, staff or management team may have.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high standards of care and education are maintained at all times
- Support staff in managing classroom behaviour positively, encouraging cooperation and respect among children.
- Lead group activities and learning that foster teamwork, creativity, and social skills for staff and children
- Stay updated with current early years education practices and policies and ofsted requirements
Skills
- Strong background in childcare or nursery settings experience in a lead/management role within an early years setting and experience in working with children with SEND.
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities to guide and inspire young learners and staff.
- Drive to create engaging learning experiences for children and staff
- Experience working with children in various settings is advantageous.
- Ability to manage room dynamics effectively while promoting positive interactions with children and staff
- Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and colleagues alike and support Send provision in the setting as Sendco with the support of the manager. To work alongside the manager to provide high quality learning and care while meeting the statutory requirements and supporting the development of the setting engaging staff in providing high quality learning and development. Promote policy and procedure of the setting and complete observations on practice and learning. Work alongside management and staff to promote the ethos and curriculum intent for the setting.
