IT Services is the central IT department of the University of Oxford. It plays a critical role in enabling Oxford’s research, teaching and administration by providing the digital systems, services and expertise that keep the University running day to day and support innovation in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. Within IT Services, Software Solutions develops, enhances and supports business applications used across the University, working collaboratively with colleagues, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, user-centred and continuously improving services.

About the Role
As a Dynamics Functional Analyst, you will help maximise the value of the University's Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform, with a particular focus on the Customer Service and Marketing applications. Acting as the link between users and technical teams, you will support colleagues in understanding platform capabilities, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring digital solutions meet evolving business needs.
Working collaboratively with developers, business analysts, product owners and stakeholders across the University, you will gather and interpret user requirements, contribute to Agile delivery activities, support testing and releases, and develop high-quality guidance and documentation that enables users to work confidently and effectively. You will also help promote adoption of Dynamics 365 and Power Platform technologies by sharing best practice and demonstrating new functionality.
Success in the role will be measured by your ability to build strong relationships, improve user experience, contribute to the continuous enhancement of the platform and support the University's wider digital transformation programme.
About You
- Educated to degree level in a computing, business or IT-related subject, or equivalent professional experience in an IT support, systems administration or functional analyst role.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications, with the ability to investigate issues, gather information from users and work collaboratively to guide users towards effective solutions.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Power Platform tools (such as Customer Service, Marketing, Power Automate or Dataverse), including practical use for configuration, reporting or user support.
- Understanding of core platform administration concepts, including managing user access, permissions or environment settings within a cloud-based application ecosystem.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage your workload, support Agile delivery processes and respond flexibly in a dynamic environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain platform capabilities to non-technical users and translate business needs for technical teams.
- Commitment to continuous learning, attention to detail and a user-focused approach, with experience of creating or maintaining clear user documentation and supporting continuous platform improvement.
